In-Home and Community Based Services
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists work with children to help them develop functional skills and optimize participation in everyday activities. All aspects of the child are evaluated including physical, social, and emotional wellness. Families are encouraged to actively participate in the therapy process to enhance follow through and ensure the skills learned are utilized in all environments. Unique to the Alexandria, MN and surrounding area, occupational therapy will be provided in the children’s home and other community based settings.

Lisa Mitteness MOT, OTR/L, BCBA
Occupational Therapist and Behavior Analyst
Lisa graduated from the University of North Dakota with a bachelor’s of science degree in Psychology in 2009 and master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2010. She also attended St. Cloud State University for Applied Behavior Analysis and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2015. Lisa has experience providing pediatric occupational therapy services in schools, private practice and several areas of mental health including inpatient and partial hospitalization, residential and outpatient programs.
Lisa has additional training in treating children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders and mental health diagnoses. She has attended trainings on Social Thinking, Zones of Regulation, and Handwriting Without Tears. She is also certified in the S.O.S Feeding Approach. Other areas of interest include emotional regulation, social skills, executive functioning, and independent living skills.
